The CHESS Laebon Sustainable Home Project, Red Deer, Alberta - As part of CMHC’s EQuilibrium Sustainable Housing Demonstration Initiative, CHESS proudly presents a house designed to produce as much energy as it uses on an annual basis.
The Avalon Discovery 3 Project, Red Deer Alberta - Discovery 3 House harnesses the power of the sun for its energy requirements. The house will not be connected to any natural gas source, however it will be tied into the power utility grid, allowing power to be bought and "sold" back into the grid system as needed.

Chutter Ranch, Nicola Valley - Dave Chutter lives on a ranch because he loves the land and the natural landscape. He is participating in restoration of 7 kilometres of the Nicola River on his land which includes planting of cottonwoods and willows, fencing out of cattle, flood and erosion control, and managing the timing and intensity of grazing. Dave is also working to bring back and protect the hilltop 'dancing grounds' of Columbian Sharp-tailed Grouse and the burrowing owl.
Hotel Eldorado, Kelowna - Lively hotel in Kelowna that uses a self-sufficient geo-thermal system to heat/cool the guestrooms, hot tubs and indoor pool. They've installed LED / low wattage light bulbs where possible, reduced number of sheets for notepads in-room and conferences, scrap paper kept and bound for internal notepads, hotel-wide recycling program.
